The Andrew Lewis Middle School football team remained undefeated with a convincing win over Ben Franklin Middle School last week. The Wolverines took a 46-6 win at Salem Stadium.
The defense was led by Trystan Gaines, Graham Pollard, Landynn Booth, Kaden Hughes, Mayson Henderson and Josh Elliott, who had an interception that he returned for a touchdown. C. J. Goens scooped up an Eagle fumble and ran it in for a score after a big hit by Gaines jarred the ball loose.
Others who contributed to the outstanding defense were Liam Park, A. J. Parker, Cyrus Walia, Adrian Simmons, Eli King, Sam Gillespie, Cam Scharnus, Mark Salinas and Luca Smith. The Wolverines had 40 first-half points with two of the touchdowns coming from the defense.
Leading the offense were running backs Henderson, Elliott, Junior Crawford, Pollard and Brycen Wright who scored his first touchdown on a pass from quarterback Maclin Hale. Aaron Brower rushed for a touchdown and had an interception on defense. The offensive line of Jaxson Cooner, Hughes, Grayson, Lavinder, Cam Martin, and Alden Sowers dominated the line of scrimmage.
The Wolverines were scheduled to take their 7-0 record to Northside on Wednesday. Their final game is next Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Pulaski.
