Roanoke College midfielder Emerson Foster was named the ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after leading the Maroons to a 15-10 win over Christopher Newport in Salem Saturday.
On the afternoon, the junior from Richmond scored six goals, four in the first half, while picking up seven draw controls, five ground balls, and four caused turnovers. All nine of Foster’s shots were on goal. For the season, Foster is second in the ODAC in goals scored (12) and third in points (13).
Salem’s Lilly Blair added four scores and an assist with Ellie Armstrong adding two goals and a helper. Goalie Carly Schoudel got her second win in as many tries and registered nine saves. Roanoke would cause 14 CNU turnovers, led by Foster with four while a trio of Maroons added two.
The win gave RC a 2-0 record and the Maroons follow with three straight games on the road. Roanoke was at Southern Virginia on Tuesday, followed by a 15 day break before games at Meredith on March 24 and Guilford on March 27.
