The Salem High golfers tied for third place in a River Ridge District match at Thorn Springs in Pulaski County Monday. Blacksburg won the round on a cold and windy day.
“It was a cold and miserable day,” said Salem coach Thad Snyder. “Whoever said a bad day of golf was better than a good day in the office must have lived in Florida.”
Blacksburg finished with a 310 to 315 for Cave Spring. Salem tied Hidden Valley for third at 320.
Macy Johnson and Alex Rhea both shot 77 to lead the Spartans. Trey Joyce carded an 81 and Hunter King came in at 85 to round out the Salem scoring.
The Spartans are back in action next Monday at Hunting Hills.
