The Roanoke College track team competed in the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic at the University of Lynchburg last Saturday and had some strong performances for both the men and women.
The women had two first place finishes. One week after setting the school record in the 400m hurdles at High Point University’s VertKlasse Meeting, Ophelia Ladner turned in a winning performance in the event with a time of 1:03.84.

On the men’s side Elias Ammon was the runner-up in the 800m, notching one of three top-five placements. Ammon logged a personal-best time of 1:53.75 to land in second place in the 800m. All five Maroons competing in the race established new personal records.
Dominic McCombs placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.05m and Matt Garis came in fifth in the 10,000m, clocking in at 32:41.20.
