The Glenvar High track team ran in a meet at Alleghany High last week and also went to Emory & Henry University on Saturday. The meet at Alleghany was the first held there in 19 years on a brand new rubber track. Alleghany, Craig County, Northside and Glenvar competed in the meet.
The meet on Saturday at Emory & Henry had some good results and saw some school records go down. Tyson Hobbs broke the school record in the triple jump with a leap of 44′ 7 3/4. That broke Scott Wagstaff’s record going back to 1992.
Aiden Beverly broke the 100 record with a time of 12.86, beating Sydney Loder’s record from a couple of years ago.
The Highlanders were scheduled to host a meet including all the Three Rivers District schools on Wednesday of this week. They’ll go to Cave Spring on Saturday for the Knights Track Classic.
