The Roanoke College softball team broke a four game losing streak Tuesday when they hosted Eastern Mennonite in a doubleheader at the Moyer Complex in Salem. The Maroons swept the doubleheader with scores by scores of 4-0 and 9-1.

With the sweep the Maroons are now 17-19 on the season and 8-12 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play. Roanoke had four games left before the ODAC tournament begins on May 2nd. Christopher-Newport was here for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday and Roanoke will head to Greensboro for a doubleheader with Guilford this Saturday.

The Maroons were swept on back-to-back days last week. On Wednesday the University of Lynchburg beat RC, 3-1 and 6-1, at the Moyer Complex. Then, a day later in Danville, Averett University won both ends of a doubleheader, 5-2 and 4-2. Leah Butts had four hits in the doubleheader in a losing cause.
