
The Roanoke College football team had six players honored this week with the release of the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The Maroons honored were: Charlie Davis, Nathan Johnson, Lane Shoemaker, Silas Fitzgerald, Ethan Cyr and Arlie VanDyke.
Davis, a linebacker, is a sophomore education major from Radford, VA. Johnson, a Glenvar High graduate, majors in health and exercise science and is a sophomore offensive lineman. Shoemaker, a sophomore health and exercise science major, is a defensive back from Roanoke and a graduate of William Byrd. Fitzgerald, a senior elementary education major, is an offensive lineman from Hidden Valley High in Roanoke County. Cyr, a sophomore business administration major, is a kicker from Stuarts Draft and VanDyke, a sophomore long snapper from Stanardsville, VA, is a health and exercise science major.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
