The Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team will open the 2026 season at home this Saturday when the Maroons host St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The opening draw is scheduled for 3 pm at Kerr Stadium on the RC campus.
The Maroons were selected to finish third in this year’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason poll with 81 points, seven points ahead of fourth ranked Randolph-Macon and 11 points behind second ranked Shenandoah. Washington & Lee leads the poll with nine first place votes for 99 points.
RC junior attacker Maddie McDonald was selected as a Second Team Preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse prior to the season. McDonald earned Third Team All-American honors from USA Lacrosse after her performance last season in addition to IWLCA Second Team All-Region and First Team All-ODAC. In 2025, the Massachusetts native led RC in goals and draw controls with 56 and 75 respectively. She also added six assists, 16 ground balls, and nine caused turnovers.
