The Glenvar girls remained undefeated in soccer with decisive wins in the past week. The Highlanders beat Giles twice following a win over Patrick County.

Last Thursday in Stuart the Highlanders allowed a goal for just the second time all season but it was inconsequential in a 9-1 win over Patrick County. Gabby Barba had a hat trick plus one, scoring four times and assisting on two others. Sawyer Wilson had two goals in the win.

A night later the girls hosted Giles in a non-district game and won 10-0. Barba had four goals and two assists again while Annie George contributed two goals before the game was stopped.

“Great team win, getting everyone involved,” said coach Kyleigh Drew.

On Tuesday of this week the Highlanders played Giles again, only this time in Pearisburg. It was much the same result with Barba and Sawyer each scoring three times and assisting on another. Freshman Ryleigh Dickerson had two goals.

Glenvar is now 9-0 on the season pending a home game with Class 5 Franklin County that was scheduled for Wednesday night. The girls go to Martinsville next Monday.
