Restaurants across Virginia’s Blue Ridge are being invited to participate in the 2026 Virginia’s Blue Ridge Restaurant Week, scheduled for Sept. 12-20.
The weeklong event will showcase the region’s culinary offerings and encourage residents and visitors to explore local dining establishments throughout the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, Salem, Vinton, Botetourt County and Franklin County.
Nearly 80 restaurants participated in last year’s event, which featured special menus, discounts and promotions designed to highlight the region’s diverse food scene while supporting local businesses.
Organizers said the regional collaboration provides participating restaurants with a larger audience and greater exposure than a traditional single-jurisdiction restaurant week.
“VBR Restaurant Week is such a special moment for our community,” Salem Mayor Renee Turk said in a statement. “It’s a chance to celebrate the incredible talent of our local chefs and enjoy the thoughtful, limited-time menus they’ve crafted with so much care. Our independent restaurants truly are the heartbeat of Salem, and this week offers the perfect invitation to explore somewhere new or experience a fresh twist on a longtime favorite.”
Alexander Jones, assistant director of economic development for Roanoke County, said the event demonstrates the benefits of regional cooperation while helping restaurants attract new customers.
“VBR Restaurant Week helps restaurants reach new customers, encourages residents and visitors to explore the different communities across our region, and showcases the unique dining experiences that make Virginia’s Blue Ridge a great place to live, work and visit,” Jones said.
Roanoke Mayor Joe Cobb said the event highlights the area’s chefs and dining establishments.
“We’re thrilled to partner with our neighboring municipalities to highlight the region’s vibrant culinary scene,” Cobb said. “With a wealth of food enthusiasts and talented chefs offering diverse cuisine, VBR Restaurant Week promises to be an exciting and enjoyable experience for both residents and visitors.”
Kyle Rosner, Botetourt County’s director of economic development, said the event gives restaurants an opportunity to attract customers from across the region while showcasing new menu offerings.
Franklin County Board of Supervisors Chair Lorie Smith said the county is excited to once again participate in the event and showcase its restaurants alongside other dining destinations throughout Virginia’s Blue Ridge.
Vinton Mayor Brad Grose said last year’s event generated strong support for local restaurants and helped highlight the town’s dining options.
Organizers are encouraging restaurants throughout the participating localities to register for the event. Businesses will have the opportunity to promote specialty dishes, attract new customers and participate in a regional marketing effort highlighting the area’s dining scene.
