Boys down HV, Rockbridge, Region tourney is next week

The Salem High boys are scheduled to open the Region 4D lacrosse tournament next Tuesday at a site and time to be determined after winning their final two games to finish 8-5 in the regular season.
Last Thursday the Spartans hosted Hidden Valley and cruised past the Titans with a 22-6 win. Salem got six goals and six assists from Jake Massey and five goals and two assists from Tanner Dallas. Also having a big night were Landon Miles with four goals and Kaidan Garst with three goals and three assists. Kayman Kinney had two goals while Carson Williams and Jackson Jones had one each. Kinney won 16 of 18 faceoffs and Eli Chambers claimed seven of eight.
On Monday the Spartans wrapped up the regular season with a 15-9 win at Rockbridge. Massey and Garst had four goals each, Dallas, Kinney and Andrew Crumpacker had two apiece and Miles had one. Trey Joyce had a dozen saves in the crease.
