Brooks, Barry Owen

Barry Owen Brooks, 82, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada, was called home on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023.

Born to the late George and Mabel Brooks, on Sunday, July 28, 1940. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, BJ Brooks. 

Barry started working for Coca-Cola as a truck driver when he was just 17 years old. He retired after 37 years working for Coca-Cola as a Corporate Manager.

He had a great love for Coca-Cola and is known as a leading Coca-Cola memorabilia collector. He also loved Nascar, was a dog lover, and loved to travel the world.

Barry was married to Gayle Brooks, the love of his life for 45 wonderful years. Those also left to cherish his memory, are daughters, Marlene Faith Brooks, Debra Gelow,

and Brenda Gearhart; brother, Gordon Brooks; grandchildren, Shannon Gelow, and George Gelow; great-grandchildren, Daniel Gelow, Georgie Gelow, and Grayson Gelow.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at 10 a.m. at East Hill Cemetery in Salem, Virginia.
