Freshman Amari Carter of the Roanoke College men’s track & field squad was select-ed as the ODAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week as released by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Carter takes the acco-lade after helping the Roanoke 4×100 relay team to a new school record and a first-place finish at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The squad’s time of 41.13 seconds beat out many DI and DII schools at the meet. Carter also took home fourth in the indi-vidual 100m with a time of 10.45 seconds and set a new personal record with a 12th place fin-ish in the 200m at 21.97 seconds.
Carter and the track & field team are in action this weekend as they split up to go to both the Hornet Open and the Raleigh Relays over Mar. 28-29.
