The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs will be hosting a super hero costume contest during Super Hero Night, sponsored by Carilion Clinic, Friday night at the Berglund Center.

Each of the top three finishers in the contest will take home a prize and the winner will receive a jersey autographed by the team. Carilion will also be giving away a pair of fleece gloves to the first 800 fans at the game on Friday.

Children aged 13 and under are eligible for the contest and are encouraged to dress up as their favorite super hero for the game against the Mississippi RiverKings. Those interested in participating in the contest to take place on the ice during the first intermission should stop by the customer service table so their parent or guardian can fill out a waiver for them to go on to the ice.

In addition to the top prize of a signed jersey, the second place finisher will win a fan pack and third place will take home a Honey Tree Early Learning Centers Family Four Pack for an upcoming game.

All participants in the contest should report to the customer service table by gate five with five minutes remaining in the first period.

The Rail Yard Dawgs host Mississippi on Thursday and Friday night at the Berglund Center. Both games start at 7:05 pm and there is a Honey Tree Early Learning Centers Family Four Pack available for Super Hero Night on Friday. Starting at $39, the package includes four tickets, two popcorns, two sodas and can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/OnlineStoreRYD.
