Country music will take center stage when Dillon Carmichael and Meghan Patrick co-headline Salem’s annual Star-B-Q concert on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Salem Farmers Market.
The fall tradition, presented by Salem Parks and Recreation, has previously featured artists such as Clint Black, Billy Currington, Lauren Alaina, Montgomery Gentry and Jordan Davis.
Carmichael, a Burgin, Kentucky native, comes from a well-known country music family. His uncles, John Michael Montgomery and Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, helped shape his musical path. Blending outlaw country with Southern rock, Carmichael made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018—just a few years after working security at the legendary venue.
Patrick, originally from outside Toronto, Canada, is best known for her 2018 hit “Walls Come Down,” which topped the Canada Country chart. With more than a decade of touring experience, she draws inspiration from artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris and Aretha Franklin.
The concert runs from 5–8:30 p.m., with gates opening at 5 p.m. and music starting at 6:15 p.m. Advance tickets are $10, or $12 the day of the show. Children 10 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available online or at the Salem Parks and Recreation main office, 620 Florida St.
Food vendors will include Bootleg BBQ, Rocky Mount Smokehouse, The Tailgate and Kettle Cooker Express. Proceeds will support programs of the Salem Rotary Club.
Sponsors include Renewal by Andersen, Holiday Inn Tanglewood, Pepsi and 94.9 Star Country.
