The Roanoke College volleyball team will open the season this weekend with an appearance in the Averett University Tournament in Danville. The Maroons will play William Peace and Bob Jones University on Friday and McMurray University on Saturday.
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women’s volleyball pre-season poll has been released with Roanoke slotting in sixth place in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches. Defending champion Washington & Lee University garnered 11 of the 12 first place votes to top the poll, followed by Virginia Wesleyan, Bridgewater, Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon. The Maroons earned 75 points for sixth place with a wide gap before seventh place Averett with 52.
Roanoke’s home debut will be on the weekend of September 5 and 6 with the Maroon Classic at the Cregger Center in Salem.
