The Roanoke College men’s soccer team will open the season this weekend with two games in Chestertown, MD when they play for the Athey Cup. Roanoke will play Washington College on Friday at 4 pm and Stevenson Univesity on Sunday at 11 am.
The Maroons were chosen to finish fourth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason poll. The poll is voted on by the head men’s soccer coaches of all the ODAC schools that sponsor the sport. Head coaches cannot vote for their own programs in the poll.
Roanoke received 92 points in the poll, placing them just four points behind third ranked Virginia Wesleyan. Lynchburg and Washington & Lee each collected six first place votes on the way to 116 points to top the 2025 edition of the annual coaches survey.
The Maroons’ home opener is Saturday, September 6, when they host Brevard College at 2 pm
