It’s darned near impossible to win this football contest twice in the same season with all the brilliant minds who enter, but Salem’s Jean Dillman was able to do just that this week. Jean won in the third week of the season, and she did it again last week.
Dillman was the only contestant to miss just two in a tough week of games. One of her misses was UVA’s upset of Florida State and she also missed Oregon over Penn State. She didn’t pick Dallas and Green Bay to tie, but no one else did either so I just threw that one out.
For her excellent prognosticating Dillman will receive a second $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s, and she might want to cut husband Wayne “Pickle” Dillman in on that as I suspect he had some input on her predictions.
For last week’s “19th Hole” I asked you to predict the score of the Salem-Blacksburg game. The Spartans ended up pulling it out for their first win of the season, 18-16, and the closest to that score was Chas Tolley of Salem who predicted the Spartans to win 19-12. He’ll get a free day of golf at the Salem Municipal Course on Academy Street.
For this week’s 19th Hole give me your prediction for the ODAC game at Salem Stadium Saturday when Roanoke College hosts Randolph-Macon. Kickoff time is 2 pm and if you’re the closet to the actual score you’ll get a tee-time of your choosing on Academy Street.
And by the way, my printer wasn’t working last week so Diane didn’t get a Syracuse picture in the mail. Most of you won’t know what I’m talking about but she will.
