Dorothy John Stewart, 93, of Salem passed away on Thursday, March 9. She was the daughter of J. Griffith and Cleo Doosing John and lived most of her life in Salem, VA.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leo V. (Buck) Stewart; a daughter, Phyllis Stewart Hannon; a son-in-law, James (Jim) ReMine; and two brothers, Griff and William (Bill) John.

Surviving are her grateful daughter, Susan Stewart ReMine, of Asheville, NC; three grandchildren, Jason ReMine, of Asheville, NC, Kristen ReMine Lyda and her husband, Jonathan, of Bat Cave, NC, and Diana Sidebottom, of Seattle, WA; “Gran” also had one great-grandson, Brad Hannon, and great-granddaughters Sarah and Elle Walton of Seattle, WA.  She also has two sisters, Bernice (Bunny) Harless of Salem, and Mary Ann (Johnnie) Beagle, of Roanoke, their husbands; a sister-in law, Barbara John, of Salem; several nieces and nephews; and special friends.

A Family and Friends Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, followed by a Graveside Service at Sherwood Memorial Park.
