Dr. Pepper Park at the Bridges presents The Great Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, October 7, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Dr. Pepper Park.

Waynette Anderson, President/Owner of Dr. Pepper Park at the Bridges states, “
The Great Pumpkin Smash was created to celebrate and enjoy fall food, pumpkin brews, live music and of course, the smashing of the great pumpkin!”

“New features this year include The Northwest TrueValue Kids Smash Zone and kid’s area (while pumpkin supplies last)”, says Anderson.
There are other pumpkin festivals in and around Roanoke…but nothing focusing on pumpkin foods and beers.

Anderson added, “so many people are excited about the pumpkin carving contest, seasonal beer selection, music performances and the festival in general! We’ve sold tickets on line to people as far away as Virginia Beach! The pumpkin carving contest proceeds benefit the Patrick Henry Band Boosters.”

Online ticket sale access at DrPepperPark.com. Tickets will also be available onsite Saturday, October 7, at the gates beginning at 10:45 a.m. Tickets are $5 per person, kids 12 and under get it for free. Participants bringing a carved pumpkin for the contest will receive a free admission.

Additional information and special announcements are on the event Facebook page The Great Pumpkin Smash.
