Green Hill Park was buzzing with action last Saturday as over 100 schools competed in the annual Knights Crossing cross country event. Over 2,000 runners competed in 13 different races from Elementary School kids to an Open race.

The high school Red Division was the most competitive and Salem High and Glenvar both competed in that. Myers Park High won the Red boys race among 51 schools with 436 boys finishing.

Glenvar, one of the smaller schools in the Red Division, finished 13th in the boys’ race. Tyler Davis was 49th followed by Aldin Smith in 70th and also scoring were Zachary Elijah Davis, Asher Faught and Evan Harris.

Salem finished 29th and scoring were John Stovall, Austin Prosser, Thomas Scharp, Isaac Snow and Matt Palleria. Stovall was 67th.

In the girls’ Red race the Spartans were 28th among 39 schools with 320 finishers. Cardinal Gibbons was the team winner followed by Blacksburg. Salem’s best finish was 112 by Keeley Prosser and also scoring were Caroline Huff, Olivia Huff, Ashlyn Davis and Harper Rocovich.

Glenvar’s girls were 32nd, led by Anna Hall in 105th place. Also scoring were Rayya Bryson, Everly Shanks, Genna Shanks and Anna Leigh Hall.

North Cross swept the team titles in the Black race, for smaller schools. Glenvar’s Jaxson Kuzmich was second overall in the middle school boys’ race.

This Saturday both Salem and Glenvar are scheduled to run at Hidden Valley High School.
