The All-Region 2C spring sports teams have all been released and, as expected, Glenvar dominates the soccer teams and also has selections for baseball and softball.
In boys’ soccer Glenvar senior midfielder Kian Fisher has been named Region 2C Player of the Year. Glenvar coach Josh Jones is the Region 2C Coach of the Year.
Fisher also leads a group of eight Highlanders on the all-region first team. Seniors are forward Wesley Feliciano, midfielders Aidan Hylton and Luke Farmer, defender Jake Williams, goalie Grayson Shepherd and Fisher. Junior defenders Cooper Mullins and Tyler Curfiss also made the first team.
Three more Highlanders made the second team. Defender Alan Vu and midfielder Kees Van Gerven are seniors and forward Adam Saunders is a junior.
For the girls, Kyleigh Drew was named Region 2C soccer Coach of the Year and the Highlanders have nine on the first team. Senior first team selections include midfielder Davin Tate, forward Anna Vecellio and defender Brooke Smyth.
Glenvar has six girls who made first team as underclassmen. Junior first team all-region goes to Sophie Childers on defense and sophomores are Sawyer Wilson and Annie George at midfield and Maddie Frackelton in the goal. Forward Camryn Stevens and defender Ryan Jones made it as freshmen.
Two forwards made second team all-region, junior Avery Steger and sophomore Adalee Harvey. That gives Drew eight all-region girls who should be back next spring.
In baseball Glenvar junior Cale Vaughan and freshman Cam Feazell both made the All-Region 2C second team as pitchers.
In softball senior Abby Teubert is first team all-region in the outfield. Senior shortstop Hannah Street and freshman thirdbaseman Zella Hayes are on the second team.
