
4 state Coach of the Year.
To victor go the spoils, and the state champion Salem High School lacrosse team dominated the Virginia High School League All-Class 4 team that was announced this week. Salem had seven players on the first team and coach George Revercomb was named Class 4 Coach of the Year.
Five Salem seniors were named first team all-state. Jackson Jones was named at attack, Jackson Wininger at midfield, Ty Hicklin at short stick middie, Brayden Hall at long stick middie and Ryan Warren as faceoff specialist. Two juniors also made the first team, Parker Dallas on attack and Ronnie Frith on defense.
Revercomb, in his fourth season as head coach, led the Spartans to a 17-3 record, capped by an 11-7 win over Loudoun County in the state championship game. Loudoun County senior Mikey Richardson was named the Class 4 Player of the Year.
The girls’ All-State Class 4 lacrosse team was also named this week and Salem had one selection. Junior Bailey Redford was named second team in the goal.
