The three-time defending state champion Glenvar boys’ soccer team remained undefeated last Thursday with an 8-0 win at home against Patrick County. The Highlanders were scheduled to play at Franklin County on Wednesday of this week followed by a trip to Floyd County tonight.

Against Patrick Adam Saunders and Tyler Curfiss each scored two goals and Parker Doolan, Levi King, Issac Sevilla and Ryder Francisco also scored. King, Doolan, and Jackson Jones each earned two assists while James Housh and Saunders each dished out one.

Glenvar held a 4-0 lead at the half and scored four more goals in the second half to end the game by slaughter rule with 13 minutes left. Glenvar outshot the Cougars, 31-2.

“We started a bit slow but are executing our corner kicks at a much better rate now,” said coach Josh Jones. “Hopefully we can keep things moving in the right direction this week.”
