Jackets bump off Maroons

The Roanoke College volleyball team is 8-8 overall and 3-5 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference after a loss to Randolph-Macon in Ashland last Saturday. The Yellowjackets pulled out the win in five sets, 25-14, 22-25, 19-25, 25-19, 15-9.
After splitting the first two sets the fifth and deciding set was back and forth with the score tied at 9-9. However, R-MC scored the final six points to win the match three sets to two.
Peyton Kirchner had a team-high 14 kills for RC. Ryanna Clark and Rylee Mayer also reached double-digit kills with 13 and 10 while Kylee Draper finished with a team-high 36 assists. Kennedy Clemmer had the Maroon’s team-high in digs with 11.
The Maroons continue on a 10-match road streak with a trip to Raleigh, NC on Tuesday, October 11, to take on Meredith College.
