
The Churchland boys and Blacksburg girls won team championships at the Virginia High School League Class 4 state track meet last week. The Class 3 and 4 meets were held Friday and Saturday at Liberty Unversity.
Salem’s boys finished 20th in the state, paced by the second place 4×400 relay team of Tristen Noel, Nazeser Miller, Keenan Helm and DaVon Jones. They ran a time of 3:20.88 for a new Salem High School record.
Jones also earned all-state honors with a sixth place finish in the 110 hurdles, running a time of 14.83. Jayden Wood was seventh in the triple jump at 44’ 0.5”. Wood just missed scoring with a ninth place in the long jump. Jones was 10th in the 300 hurdles, Noel was 11th in the 400 and Aedon Wiley was 10th in the 100 and 12th in the 200.
