The pond at Lake Spring has sprung a leak, according to the city of Salem. “Employees from the Salem Street Department began working on the pond closest to West Main Street Tuesday, October 17,” the city said. “A water leak in the masonry will be repaired and the bottom will be cleaned while the weather is cooperative.” While water levels in the pond will be very low while work is ongoing, the back pond where the ducks reside will not be affected.
