2026 Summer Financial Literacy Series at the Salem Public Library

The Salem Public Library will conduct a four-part financial literacy series for seniors this summer. Join us for Part 1: National Council on Aging’s (NCOA) Savvy Saving Seniors Workshop on Wednesday, May 20, at 2pm.

This free educational session helps older adults build everyday money skills that support independence and peace of mind. We’ll explore practical tips for budgeting, ways to avoid common “budget busters”, and finding benefits that can stretch your income further, and more! All attendees will receive a copy of NCOA’s Savvy Saving Seniors Participant Handbook, including worksheets for tracking spending, income, and expenses, plus a Money Personality Quiz, Top 10 Things to Consider, Top Budget Busters to Avoid, and more. The workshop will be presented by library staff, Theresa Baga and David Butler , using NCOA’s Savvy Saving Seniors Toolkit.

Please note: Library staff are not financial professionals and cannot provide personalized financial, legal, or investment advice. Bonus: The first 10 attendees or couples may choose a free organizational tool, either a coupon organizer, weekly meal planner, or monthly budget planner. Register at salemva.libcal.com or call the Salem Library (540-375-3089)
