The Roanoke College women won their third lacrosse game in a row last Saturday when they defeated Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA, 20-7.
Roanoke came out firing, going on a 7-0 run to kick off the game and building an 8-3 lead after the first quarter. RC then allowed just two goals to Randolph-Macon in the second and tallied six of their own to increase the advantage to 14-5 at the half.
Grace Koutouzis had a new career high in points with 11, scoring three times and assisting on eight. That puts her sixth in single game points, tying Gina Valles’ total against Randolph-Macon in 2010. Koutouzis became the eighth player in program history to reach the 250-point mark during this week’s contests. Koutouzis’ eight assists is the third highest single game total in program history, tying Jenn Schwechheimer’s 2019 mark against Ferrum. Her eight helpers were also a new career high for Koutouzis.
Maddie McDonald got in on the career high fun, tallying six goals for the first time in a game. The sophomore was a perfect 6-for-6 in shots on goal in the game. Zoe Blair and Raegan Becker joined Koutouzis and McDonald in recording hat tricks with three goals each.
With the win Roanoke improved to 7-4 on the season and 4-1 in the ODAC. The Maroons had a Wednesday game in Greensboro, NC against Guilford and they’ll be back home Saturday afternoon for a 2 pm Alumni Weekend game against Christopher Newport at Kerr Stadium.
