Police Report

The Salem Police Department reported the following people were arrested and charged March 2-8. Arrest indicates an accusation, and defendants are presumed innocent unless found guilty in court. Police do not release the names of persons under the age of 18.

Those arrested and their charges were listed as:

March 2 – Amelia L. Campbell, 24, contempt of court; and Cody A. Gambrell, 27, assault and battery.

March 3 – Christopher S. Davis, 50, DUI; and Matthew D. Sweeney, 27, DUI.

March 4 – Chelsea L. Stafford, 27, violation of probation; and Jonathan T. Koons, 42, public intoxication.

March 5 – Sherman D. Purcell, 40, violation of probation; and Aaron D. Sykes, 50, contempt of court.

March 7 – Rita A. Marshall, 63, shoplifting; Trisha D. Smith, 30, public intoxication; and Cedric J. Ellis, 42, criminal trespass.

March 8 – Brandon S. Stewart, 36, violation of protective order; Eric P. Mabes, 34, conceal merchandise; and Stephen A. Via, 23, assault and battery, shoplifting, public intoxication, criminal trespass.
