Weekly Crime Report (Felony Cases)

Bobbie Edward Saul, 93, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

He was drafted into the US Army, served throughout the Korean War, rose to the rank of Sergeant, and upon his honorable discharge became a lifetime member of the VFW Post 12154 of Salem, Va. He was also the first real estate assessor for the City of Salem, and past president of the Virginia Association of Assessing Officers. His church membership was held at the Salem Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 60 years, Lois Mills Saul; and 11 brothers and sisters.

His surviving family includes his daughter, Rosemary Saul and her husband, Richard Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special appreciation is extended to the staff at the Davis & McDaniel Veterans Care Center for its kind and compassionate care.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Va., with Pastor Taylor Plott officiating.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the League for Animal Protection at PO Box 561 in Fincastle, Va. 24090. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com.
