Senior libero CJ Kingston of the Roanoke College men’s volleyball team earned ODAC Defensive Player of the Week honors as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Kingston set a new program record for single game digs with 24 against Eastern Mennonite last week. In doing so, the South Carolina native tied the ODAC record in digs for a three-set match and also tied for the most digs in a three-set match in Division III this year. Kingston also added 21 digs between RC’s two victories on Saturday.
Kingston and the Maroons are set to take on the ODAC semifinals today. They will square-off with the winner of Tuesday’s Eastern Mennonite-Lynchburg quarterfinal tonight at the Cregger Center in Salem. The championship match is Saturday at a site to be determined.
Roanoke is 21-7 overall and 14-2 in ODAC matches.
