As the Roanoke College men’s soccer team wraps up practices before their first game on September 3, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) has announced the 2022 ODAC Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll with the Maroons picked third out of the 13 league teams.
Stockton visits the Maroons to open the season on Sept. 3 before RC takes on Texas Lutheran on Sept. 5. Both games are part of an opening weekend set of games that also sees Ithaca visit campus.
Washington and Lee, who advanced to the final four of the 2021 NCAA Tournament, is picked to win the ODAC, securing 143 points and 11 first-place votes. Defending ODAC Champion Lynchburg collected the final two first-place votes along with 133 points to be picked second. The Maroons were close behind with their 120 points in the poll. Randolph-Macon (4th – 110 points) and Virginia Wesleyan (5th – 89 points) wrapped up the top five.
Hampden-Sydney (6th – 88 points), Randolph (7th – 86 points), ODAC newcomer Averett (8th – 62 points), Bridgewater (9th – 55 points), and Shenandoah (10th – 53 points) finish the top 10. Guilford, Ferrum, and Eastern Mennonite sit 11th through 13th in the preseason poll.
