DaVon Jones of Andrew Lewis makes an open field tackle in last week’s win over Ben Franklin Middle School.

The Glenvar Middle School football team will play host to the Andrew Lewis Middle School 7th grade team tonight at Highlander Stadium. Game time is 6:30 pm for the border war.
Last week Glenvar defeated Clifton Middle, 32-0 as Brody Williams scored three touchdowns and Ranger Swanson had two. The Lewis 7th graders lost to Pulaski Middle, 40-6, on Thursday but bounced back with a 24-14 win over the Read Mountain 7th graders on Monday.
The Andrew Lewis 8th grade football team defeated Ben Franklin Middle School, 28-8, last Thursday at Salem Stadium to run their record to 2-0 on the season. The offensive line of Tucker Preas, Michael Crawley, Winston Wolfe, Jamalachi Law, Ethan Millar, and Robert McDaniel did an outstanding job opening running lanes for the Lewis running backs.
Kyshead Arrington and Jordan McCadden scored touchdowns and quarterback Tanner Overstreet threw a touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone to DaVon Jones. The Lewis defense also played very well in the victory.
The Lewis 8th grade team will host Read Mountain today at 5 pm.
