RC track competes in big meet

The Roanoke College outdoor track & field team traveled to High Point University to compete in the Vertklasse Meeting last . In a highly competitive meet, athletes from 34 different teams and unattached athletes competed in the two-day event.

On Thursday night RC’s Cooper Neeble posted the highest finish for the Maroons with a second place finish in the Men’s Steeple Chase.  His blistering time of 9:38.91 is the top time in the ODAC by over nine seconds and places him 15th in all DIII.

The Men’s 4x100m relay team of Troy Crawley, Xavier O’Brien, Blake Morin, and Sam Crawford finished third overall with a time of 43.38 seconds. O’Brien also posted a top 10 finish in the Men’s 400M hurdles with a time of 57.83.  That time currently puts him second in the ODAC.

Alison Moreau finished third in the Women’s High Jump, clearing 1.45m.  Chloe Van Duyne posted a top-three finish in the Women’s Pole Vault clearing 3.00m.

The Women’s 4×400 relay team of Haylee Gamble, Mikayla Hefferon, Lily Lippert, and Emily Ball finished fifth overall with a time of 4:07.17.  That is currently the top time in the ODAC.

Roanoke will next travel to Lynchburg  for the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic on Saturday, April 17.
