Roanoke College’s Olausen sets school record in Javelin

Paige Olausen’s Roanoke school record throw in the javelin highlighted a weekend full of personnel bests as the Roanoke College lacrosse team took part in the VertKlasse Meet at High Point University in North Carolina.

Olausen’s throw of 39.97 set the Roanoke school record, is the second best throw in the ODAC this year and ranks ninth in all of Division III. David Flowers placed ninth in the men’s hammer throw with a mark of 42.90 which was also a personal best.

In the 5000m run, Kerri Dalton placed ninth overall in the Division III heavy field with a time of 17:54.29 which is more than 30 seconds better than her previous personnel best.

Mara Briggs finished ninth in the high jump with a mark of 1.52m – 4′ 11.75″, while Jayna Jean-Jules was sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.32m – 132′ 3.” In the 5000m, Howard Daniels placed 17th with a time of 15:45.26

This weekend Roanoke will be in action Friday and Saturday at the Liberty Invitational.
