The Glenvar and Salem tennis teams will take some time off for spring break, but not before they play one more match. The Glenvar teams have Parry McCluer on Thursday while Salem’s boy are at Hidden Valley on Wednesday, followed by a girls’ home match against the Titans on Thursday.

Glenvar’s boys are 6-1 following a 6-3 win over William Byrd on Monday. The Highlanders got singles wins from Adonis Rose, Freddy Eichelman, Zach Chittum, Nick Deaton, and Garrett Howell.
Chittum and Deaton also won their doubles match.  The Highlanders were at Radford Tuesday.

The girls lost to Byrd Monday, 6-3. Jordan Downing and Barika Mirza both won their singles matches and the team of Hannah Green and Hannah Yando won at third doubles.

Salem’s boys defeated Cave Spring Monday, 6-3. Former Spartans Goran Vukovic and Mile Markovic are the new coaches for the Knights, so that was interesting match for the Salemites. Winning at singles were Mladen Vukovic, Johnny Danstrom, Dejo Markovic and Ryan Walters, while the teams of Vukovic-Danstrom and Walters-Jake Johnson won at doubles as Salem improved to 6-1.

The girls hosted Blacksburg on Monday and lost, 8-1. Isabel Danstrom picked up Salem’s point in singles, 6-1, 6-1. The girls were scheduled to play Cave Spring on Tuesday.
