Salem Host Lions donate $20,500 during community appreciation event

Photo by Jenny PolandThe Salem Host Lions Club hosted a Community Appreciation Dinner on April 4, 2017, at the Salem Civic Center.  The club donated a total of $20,500 to the following organizations:  Salem High School Activity Fund and Band, Andrew Lewis Middle School Activity Fund and Band, Special Olympics Torch Run, Salem Schools DARE Program, Salem High School After Prom and Glenvar High School After Prom.

At the meeting, representatives from each group gave a brief description of how funds donated are utilized.  Representatives from the organizations who attended the dinner are pictured from left to right: Officer Todd Wiley (Salem Police DARE Program),Officer Colin Hudson (Salem Police DARE Program),  Officer Todd Clayton (Salem Police DARE Program and Special Olympics), Officer Stan Malek (Salem Police Dare Program), Officer Blake Critz (Salem Police Special Olympics Torch Run), Hunter Routt (Salem High School), Thomas Graham (Andrew Lewis Middle School), Michelle McNeil (Glenvar After Prom), Christina Pierce (Glenvar After Prom), Sharon Kennedy (Salem After Prom) and Becky Bassford (Salem After Prom).
