The Salem High boys’ lacrosse team will get a good test tonight when the Spartans take on E.C. Glass. Game time is 7:15 pm at Spartan Field.
The 2025 defending Class 4 champions lost for the first time since last year’s regular season when the Spartans fell to Patrick Henry, 11-9, at Merrill Gainer Stadium in Roanoke last week. Holden Custer had three goals and Wade Marble and Parker Dallas had two each.
“We lost but we learned a lot from it and have made some adjustments I feel better about now,” said Salem coach George Revercomb. “Sometimes you need to take a loss to learn some things.”
On Monday Salem hosted a much weaker team and took a 25-1 win at Spartan Field. Dallas and Custer had six goals each, Logan Sparks had three and Josiah King and Alex Foster had two each. The Spartans had the ball in their offensive end for virtually the entire game.
“We looked really good and did what I wanted to do as far as executing a newer offense,” said Revercomb.
Salem is at Blacksburg Monday.
