Salem Native Bertie Conner Celebrates 105th Birthday

Bertie Mae Conner, a lifelong Salem resident, celebrated her 105th birthday on June 10. Born in 1920 to Joseph Cephus and Lillie Belle Bryant Rucker, Conner married Roy Allen Conner in 1936 and raised seven children. Known as “Granny” to many, she enjoys coffee, chocolate, and visits with loved ones. A member of Mason Cove Church of the Brethren, she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years and remains active in her church and community.
