The Salem High softball team is back on another win streak. After their 10 game win streak was snapped by Cave Spring on May 2nd the Spartans have now won their last three.
Salem’s third straight win was a 2-1 victory over Hidden Valley at the Moyer Complex last Friday. Cora Robinson picked up the win in the circle, pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts. Cora Grace Sparger was two-for-three at the plate and had the winning RBI in the bottom of the sixth.
Salem was at Franklin County last Friday for a rematch of their season opening 15-0 loss. This time it went much better but nothing was decided when the rain came in the fourth inning and the game was suspended at 0-0. The two teams hope to pick it up at that point
The Spartans are now 15-4-1 overall and 10-1 in the district. A Tuesday game at Christiansburg was postponed until Wednesday and the Spartans area at Patrick Henry Friday.
