
Salem High’s DaVon Jones took a third place in the state Class 4 55 meter hurdles last week and also ran on the third place 4×200 relay as Liberty University.
Jones ran a time of 7.79 in the preliminaries of the hurdles event to qualify for the final. He then lowered his time to 7.68 in the championship race to finish third.
In 4×200 relay Jones, Tristen Noel, Aedon Wiley and Nicolas Baxley ran a time of 1:31.91 for third place in the state. Also competing, Salem’s 4×200 relay was 13th, Noel was 14th in the 500 and Wiley was 16th in the 300.
The girls had one relay team competing, the 4×800, and they were 16th.
