Salem Area Ecumenical Ministries announced on Monday the appointment of Edie T. Saunders as operations coordinator for Mrs. Dorsey’s Clothes Closet and the relocation of the ministry to a new facility at 2121 Apperson Drive, effective Jan. 5, 2026.
Saunders will oversee daily operations at the clothing ministry, coordinating volunteers, managing donations, and helping maintain a welcoming and organized environment for guests. She will also focus on building community partnerships that support the organization’s mission of providing dignity and assistance to families in need.
The new Apperson Drive location offers expanded showroom space, improved accessibility, and updated facilities designed to better serve the Salem community.
“We are excited to welcome Edie Saunders to the SAM team and to open this beautiful new location,” said Carey Harveycutter, chair of the Salem Area Ecumenical Ministries Board of Directors. “Edie’s leadership and enthusiasm will strengthen our ability to serve those in need, and this new facility will allow us to expand our mission in ways that truly make a difference for our community.”
The board expressed appreciation to volunteers, donors, and community partners whose support made the move possible. Salem Area Ecumenical Ministries continues its mission of providing compassionate service and faith-based outreach to neighbors throughout the area.
