School divisions across the Roanoke Valley, including Salem City Schools, Roanoke County Public Schools, Roanoke City Public Schools and Craig County Public Schools, held a Load the Bus weekend at local Walmart stores from Friday, Aug. 4-Sunday, Aug. 6. Pictured is the Load the Bus effort on Sunday at the Salem Walmart. Chuck Lionberger, director of community relations for Roanoke County Public Schools, said, “Everything goes to help kids in need.” He noted pens, pencils, notebooks, Crayons and glue sticks were needed.
