
The Salem High cross country teams competed in the Region 4D championships last week in Winchester, hosted by Millbrook High School. Blacksburg swept the team championships with the Salem boys finishing seventh among 14 teams and the girls finishing 11th.
The boys’ best finish was 17:15′ by John Stovall, good for 26th place, while Thomas Schaarp was less than a second behind at 17:16.3 with a season’s best time. Isaac Snow was 31st, Austin Prosser was 48th and Grafton Smith had Salem’s final scoring time in 66th.
For the girls, Keeley Prosser ran a season’s best time and finished 42nd in 21:18. Also scoring for the Spartans were Olivia Huff in 57th, Ashlyn Davis in 62nd, Hannah Patel in 65th and Madesyn Grubb in 70th.
