Signing Day

Wednesday, May 18th, was the offical NCAA spring signing day and both local high schools had a group of athletes declare their intentions to further their eduction and participate in collegiate sports. Salem High, above left, had a dozen students recognized at a morning assembly. Front row left to right, with college and sport, are Faith Markham-Ferrum College lacrosse, Annie Bond-Roanoke College soccer, Kennedy Scales-Concord University basketball and Emma Johnson-Roanoke College tennis. Back row, left to right; Tommy Henzey-Emory & Henry Cross Country and Track & Field, Evyn Hughes-Roanoke College Track & Field, Boone Fleenor-Univ. of Mary Washington Swimming, Will Hicks-Univ. of Lynchburg lacrosse, Trent Judd-Univ. of Lynchburg Baseball, Stacy Williams-VMI Football, Cameron Leftwich-Bridgewater College Football and Cameron Martindale-Bridgewater College Football.
