Salem will be among close to 30 schools competing in the 14th annual Knights Track Classic at Cave Spring High School Saturday. The Spartans are coming off a big week as they ran at Blacksburg last Wednesday and at Hidden Valley on Saturday, April 19.
First place finishes for the Salem boys at Blacksburg included Nazeser Miller in the 200 and 400, DaVon Jones in the 300 hurdles, Grant Horner in the 800 and Austin Prosser in the 3,200. The boys 4×400 relay also took first place with Alijah Brown, Elija Rabb, Fergens Ciril and DeMarco Patterson.
The girls 4×400 relay took first place with the foursome of Harper Rocovich, Audrey Harmon, Addison Hancock and Caroline Huff. Harmon took third in the 400 and Huff did the same in the 800.
At Hidden Valley Jones swept the 110 and 300 hurdles and Coen Logan was first in the 100 and second in the 200. The 4×800 relay team of Horner, Prosser, Thomas Scharp and John Stovall also took first place. Addyson Funk was second in the girls’ 800.
