Time is running out for producers to complete crop acreage reports for the 2017 crop year. Producers need to report all summer crops by the deadline of Monday, July 17 to be eligible for FSA programs.
Filing an accurate crop acreage report at your local FSA office can prevent the loss of benefits for a variety of programs. Annual acreage reports are required for most Farm Service Agency programs including ARCPLC contracts.
The following spring/summer crops should be reported by July 17, 2017 to be reported timely: Corn, Cotton, Grain Sorghum, Forage Sorghum, Millet, Peanuts, Tobacco, Soybeans, CRP and vegetables.
The following exceptions apply to the above acreage reporting date:
- If the crop has not been planted by the above acreage reporting date, then acreage must be reported no later than 15 calendar days after planting is completed.
Producers are encouraged to call the FSA office to schedule an appointment to report summer crops by the July 17 deadline (540-977-2698, Ext. 2).
