Wolverines win home track meet

The Andrew Lewis track teams hosted a meet at the Salem High track last week and outscored Southwest Virginia Academy, Covington, and Read Mountain Middle School,

The girls were led by double winner Madelyn Eversole who remained undefeated in the 1600 meters as well as winning the 800 meters. Brynn Clewis remained undefeated in the 400 meter dash. Nilay Otey was the winner of the 100 meter hurdles, while Liv Lam won the 300 meter hurdles.

The 1600 meter relay team of Eversole, Clewis, Alice Carr and Jo’Hanna Nugent also were victorious.

The boys team remained undefeated and were led by double winners Zyere Richardson in the hurdles and Jayden White in the 400 and 200 meter dashes. The 3200 meter relay team of Brody Malloy, Owen Jenkins, Parker Garst and Declan Painter got their first win of the season.

Grant Martin remained undefeated in the shot put, while the 400 meter relay team of White, Richardson, Joshua Elliott and Liam Park remained unbeaten. Ian Rosier was the winner of the triple jump, as was the 1600 meter relay team of Rosier, Felix Ruch, Amir Franklin, and Andrew Hall.

The Wolverines were scheduled to run in a meet on Tuesday of this week at Glenvar.
