Yogi is smarter than your average STR football contestant

Last week we thanked Yogi Roberts for giving us an idea for the “19th Hole” question and prize. This week we’re sending him to Mac & Bob’s.
Roberts, whose family once owned the popular Lakeside Amusement Park in Salem, rode the rollercoaster of football forecasting to a win in our weekly contest. Yogi missed just two games, picking Michigan State over Maryland and Cave Spring over William Byrd, but he was correct on all the others, including all five of the always tough pro games. For his efforts he’ll receive a gift certificate for $50 from Mac & Bob’s Restaurant as well as a Blizzard from Dairy Queen in Salem.
Last week was the debut of our “19th Hole” question, good for a day of free golf at the Salem Municipal Course on Academy Street. We asked you to pick the score of the Liberty and Old Dominion game and the actual score was 38-24 in favor of the Flames. The closest to that score was Bobby Kiker of Salem, who guessed Liberty would win 34-24. For that Bobby gets a free day of golf, with pull cart, at the popular local course. However, don’t go next Wednesday, October 12, in the late afternoon as Salem High will be hosting a distance run over the nine holes on that day. Any other day will be fine.
For this week’s 19th hole tell me which NFL quarterback will throw for the most yards this week, and how many. Put your answer in the space provided on the entry blank and the closet to the actual amount will get a free day on the links. –Brian Hoffman
